What is art?

Since I’m in the middle of a flame war with Jago at the TZ about a sig I made, I thought about the question: What really is art?

Art is a form of visual expression I would say, but as a sig maker myself, it seems different. We’re so preoccupied with perfect lighting, depth, amazing effects, and creativity that we don’t do art as it should be done. So great art, is it something with the best “sig standards” or the most appealing or the most expressive. Any, I’d say. Art that is “super pro”, will get you praise by artists at the NSL and forums like that , and art that is appealing can get you that and the notice of random online people. But if people looked at their art as a way of expressing themselves, that could be all that really matters.

So I was wrong.

Celtics in 6 instead of Lakers in 6.

I underestimated the power of Pierce, Garnett, and Allen.

Especially Pierce.

You have to admit this is going to be a great series, with the renewing of the super rivalry of the past. However, all the people I know are saying that either the Celtics or Lakers are going to win it in 6 or 5…meaning no one thinks it’s going to be a close 7 game series.

The Lakers have got more depth than the Celtics in my opinion, with the better bench. And besides, the Celtics brought in 2 superstars over the summer, which just doesn’t seen fair, as for the Lakers who’ve brought in Gasol, but otherwise have lived off of good seasons by their younger players, Walton, Farmar, Turiaf, Radmanovic, and Vujacic. When I think of Pierce-Garnett-Allen, I think of a very good team, but a team that just doesn’t have that factor of…teamwork.

This is Kobe’s MVP year, the year he’s finally “grown up.” I think he deserves a title without Shaq for that, don’t ya agree? I know Pierce has waited, but at least for this year, and maybe for many years to come, it’s the Lakers.

NSL Sucks

So I joined the National Sig League…oh man.

These so called pro sig designers should use their heads a bit more when rating sigs. It’s not about all the shit they look for in sigs all the time.

And I’m not fucking kidding, I just lost a sig match to this total noob.

I lost 5 to 2. I personally don’t know fucking how. His sig looks like a bunch of heads with shit piled on it, and all those super pro designers were like, nice colors, nice blending, nice compo. WHAT THE FUCK?
